New Year 2015

25/12/2014

I would like to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

2014 was a very eventful year for us at Martyn Gerrard. One of my highlights was our 50th Anniversary in May. As we head into 2015 I am pleased that we continue to hold close to our original values of providing professional, reliable advice and most importantly giving a personal, hands on service - Putting people before property.

I was delighted that the work and dedication of both our Sales and Lettings teams were recognised at the Letting Agent of the Year and the Estate Agent of the Year Awards which are both sponsored by The Times and Sunday Times.  We won the GOLD medal for best medium sized letting agent in London. Then for the second year in succession we were awarded the SILVER medal as best medium Estate Agent in London.

I am looking forward to 2015, as the housing market in London seems to be settling down to more steady growth, rather than the frenzied price rises we have seen over the past year or so. For anyone considering selling in 2015, the first few months could prove to be an opportune time. If you would like more advice please contact your nearest office.

For those of you looking to buy make sure you check out our property listings for the area you are looking in. There are a number of properties that have gone live over Christmas ready for viewings in the new year.

Once again I hope you are enjoying the Christmas holidays and that 2015 brings you everything you wish for.

Your Latest Newsletter From Martyn Gerrard - Nov 13

14/11/2013
The summer has been one of the busiest for Martyn Gerrard for many years. The good weather over the second part of the summer definitely helped with prospective buyers and sellers acting positively. This positive activity is continuing as we head into winter. In fact week on week we are seeing an increase in traffic to our website and applicants registering with us looking for a home to buy. The lettings market continues to be very buoyant with quality rental property becoming more readily available. This is in part due to the boost in the buy-to-let market which goes from strength to strength. This is a very encouraging step forward and a great trend for existing and potential tenants looking for quality rental accommodation. In this E-newsletter we look at some fundamental areas including safety around the home and how to stage your property for the perfect viewing. We also look at decision making when it comes to purchasing and what difference a road name can make to your sale price. We revisit our photo competition as we draw nearer to the closing date. We have had some amazing entries and the £100 first prize M&S voucher is still up for grabs. Finally we were delighted to have won the Silver and Bronze awards at the annual Negotiator Award Ceremony, being recognised for having one of the best websites in the country and being one of the top 3 medium sized Estate Agents.

So far 2013 has been a very positive year for the Property Market and for Martyn Gerrard. It seems that we are slowly but surely recovering from recession. Property prices are on the rise and the steep increase in Buy-to-Let properties appearing on the market are a real positive sign of renewed demand for quality housing. This will ultimately lead to money being spent to improve the availability of good quality rental accommodation. In this month's Edition Greg Tsuman, our Lettings Director, talks about the state of properties to let in North London and his feeling on this positive trend. We hear from the NAEA on how to sell your house and Mortgage Mike talks about the buzz surrounding the Government's Help-to-Buy Scheme.
